Guest guest
Today I had the privilege of running with an acquaintance I hadn't seen in over 25 years since high school who I reconnected with on Facebook. Who ever would have thought these two wave-o's from the smoking section in high school would wind up being big time runners?? Angel just completed her 4th marathon last weekend and she, myself and two other women who all run about the same pace did a 7 mile run through the very elegant East Moreland neighborhood - the one I got totally lost in a few weeks ago and had to take a random bus back toward downtown to get home! Not only are there lovely, expensive homes, the streets were quiet and there's a nature preserve / bird sanctuary and pond there too, and we ran along the Springwater Trail for apiece.I'm used to running alone and all and all prefer it that way, but I'm on a staycation at the moment with a lot of time on my hands. The weather here is finally turned perfect and I'm writing this from my patio outside with a stick of incense going, sipping on a glass of white zinfindel - not normally my wine of choice but for whatever reason I felt like a blush today and it's hitting the spot! Anyway I was grateful for the company and a chance to run someplace different for a change. At one point we came to a " hill " and Angel says, " This hill sucks " and so I'm all digging in, mentally preparing to tackle it, and tore on ahead. Seriously compared to where I live near Mt. Tabor this " hill " really wasn't that big of a deal. In fact running downhill is worse for me because my joints don't like it very well. I'm grateful to Mt. Tabor for prepping me for these other more moderate hills that come along in other runs. When I got home I took a bath and a long cat nap, complete with cats, as I was out late doing karaoke last night for the first time Encouraged by beer and a relaxed, country crowd at this bar in the middle of nowhere in ville I sang Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and Ain't Nobody by Rufus. It was a lot of fun, and I wrote down some songs from the book to practice at home for next time. I could get hooked on it, actually, attention whore that I am. Tomorrow my friend , a stay at home mom, is coming over for her virgin kettlebell workout and I can't wait to introduce it to her! In exchange she is going to show me the new release of Body Pump 78. I am so lucky to have friends that enjoy fitness as much as I do!Ta ta for now,
