Guest guest
Hey some of you know that I am also a member of CHE(children with epilepsy). Someone from that group asked me about PMG. I took the info from this group and briefed her on it. Isn't it interesting how things tie together. I always wonder about just regular " epilepsy " and other brain disorders. I don't think there is such a thing. Some neuros probably don't get that involved with calling specific brain disorders because it might be too much info for parents to handle. Of course that is my opinion. I wrote a lot of info for that group, by borrowing the definition from the PMG definition. I'll let you know what she or the others have to say. Have a great weekend and may your children stay as healthy as possible. Patty in TN
Guest guest
Patty, Ironically, Hailey's uncle ( fathers' brother ) has epilepsy. I have often wondered if he may actually have some form of PMG, and maybe his neuro hasn't realized that. We first saw his neuro for Hailey with her MRI and all he said was that she'd had a stroke in utero, resulting in CP. We went to a second neuro who said the same thing. We had her MRI sent to Dr. Dobyns in Chicago who diagnosed her with PMG. Two radiologists had said Lissencephaly in the mix, before the PMG diagnosis came in. Hailey's uncle was diagnosed with Epilepsy at about 1 year of age. He has no real issues, other than occasional seizures ( maybe 4 in his 17 years ), but I will say he is not the brightest crayon in the box. He has always had problems with school, but I think a lot of that is by choice and attitude. But all of this combined make me wonder if Dr. Dobyns may see more in his MRI than his neuro. I think there is a link. Hope this little tid-bit at least proves interesting. Just someone ask about PMG from another group.
