Guest guest
I see some strong correlations here, especially with the antidepressants, pain killers, female hormones, but of course, this isn't the majority of folks posted yet, and the diagnoses isn't with each correlation either. That would be a very difficult chart to establish with both cause and effect broken down. Informal Research-first report Hi, All! So far we have had 39 women and one man respond to my survey. I will update it as more folks weigh-in. But here is what we have so far. I have grouped antidepressants, tranquilizers and anti-anxiety meds together. Likewise diet pills and amphetamines or uppers are one group. Anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants are grouped with pain meds. jan

Guest guest
My main point is just that docs would rather treat the symptoms than give some real help for the cause. wrote: I see some strong correlations here, especially with the antidepressants, pain killers, female hormones, but of course, this isn't the majority of folks posted yet, and the diagnoses isn't with each correlation either. Guest guest
Roxanne when I was a child and more than likely hyprethyroid, had all the symptoms, I was DX'd with Asthma. I do not now have it at all. I have had to learn to avoid chlorine in every way possible as it was a major trigger for this symptom. I learned not to drink from the tap anywhere and everything water I drank had to be heated to boiling first, as in coffee & tea. Now I buy bottled water for myself & my cats as I have a hypo kitty that is also sensitive to chlorine! I am feeling better, slowly, so hang in there, sometimes there is hope for us severely hypo people! Guest guest
Thank you , it will be interesting to see how many have or have been diagnosis with thie asthma, I was diagnosis with this a week and a half ago and given an inhaler and it works if I seat and do nothing most of the time, but if I take it and do normal things like chores, housework and exercise I feel like if I take the whole inhaler it won't help! lol I'm hoping that once I get the right medication I can get rid of the inhalers. : )) Roxanne

Guest guest
I think I am the only one diagnosed with asthma at one time. I now know that it was thyroid-related breathing problems. You can read for yourself on our site, because all but one person posted their answers directly to the group. Roxanne wrote: Hey Jan Great Work! Guest guest
Oh my goodness, I have forgotten (imagine that!) but my GP years ago back in '94 I believe, gave me a few samples of an inhaler to take. I was having trouble breathing or getting my breath. Now I KNOW it was my thyroid. I do not have asthma. I never did take the inhaler as I was too scared to. I hope so too Roxanne that it is just your meds needing to be tweaked. I think that was my problem for sure.
