Guest guest
I don't know about this, folks.... I did week 1 day 1 today. Let's just say I at least kept in motion for the entire time -- I didn't exactly follow the plan. And that was on a treadmill where I can hold on to the rails " for safety. " I think I will be on week one for quite a while. I haven't felt this exhausted for a long time! I'd rather do a Cathe workout! And all it was, was walk-run intervals. Unless something physical arises, I plan to stay with it. I would really really like to learn to run properly. With my short, stubby legs, I'll never win a race, but I just want to do it for myself. Tomorrow will be weights -- probably LW2LW. Then I try this again. Indyrose who also wishes Kassia a Happy Birthday!!
Guest guest
There's nothing wrong with staying at week 1 for two or three weeks! You'll know when to move on. Do you think you'll take your work to the street soon? I personally can't do the treadmill. I'd rather run in the rain and cold than be on the treadmill. Sometime's I'll tough it out at Fitness only because I like it there so much, but that's the only reason. Keep it up, stick with it - you'll be at your 5K before you know it! Guest guest
I think I may have something " psychological " against running. Unless the podcast I was going by is just toooooooo fast for me (128 bpm walk/138 run) then I have a lot of work ahead of me. I may just switch to the voice-only podcast. It doesn't have BPM. Guest guest
Indy, some people respond to these " programs " but they aren't for me at all, personally. If you get bored with this, what I might suggest is go to walkjogrun.net and plot out a 1.5 mile route and do walk/run intervals along it with the most thumpin', motivating, music that makes you want to dance tunes on your iPod and just go! Be outside, enjoy your community and nature, feel your body make distance across the Earth.. I think I may have something " psychological " against running. Guest guest
Hi Indy, No shame in sticking with a "week" or two in the plan until you feel ready to move on. That is how I approached the 100 push-up challenge, and I did actually get to the point where I was able to do 5 sets of 20 push-ups each to reach 100! (and had the best arms ever!) I did Couch to 5k and I think it is a good program. I may do it again as I need to ramp up my rnning again since I sort of quit. I tend to go in phases with things. Running outdoors is different, so I do suggest you try to mix it up by doing some in and some out. I think I may wait until the fall to try that since it is hot here in the summer and w/ my schedule I can't get out for early morning runs (little one at home until 8:45 every day!). Who knows, though, I may get motivated to give it a go!Take care - Donna ----- Forwarded Message ----To: exercisevideos Sent: Mon, June 27, 2011 10:04:00 PMSubject: C25K I don't know about this, folks....I did week 1 day 1 today.
