another type of OCD....

Thanks for those varying responses-I got something out of all of them. I think

what triggers the idea of the possibility of this type of worry as being OCD is

the frequency of the thoughts, the mental exhaustion I get from it, and the way

it nearly seems to debilitate and definitely decrease functioning ability.....I

guess it's anxiety, regardless of the type.....Lists are a big part of my life,

and yes, my anxiety does go down as I write things down, and I very seldom

accomplish each thing on the list...and it is broad spectrum in that it isn't

ONLY about achieving things, but worrying about being bad, what people think, if

I said something wrong, if I'm " good " enough....which brings me back to the

point I was to begin with-my son has the scrupulosity or bad thought OCD, so I

just wonder if it is indeed related. His doctor seemed to think we could

probably locate someone in the family who definitely had OCD, not just a cousin

like anxiety...thus my pondering on it all. Thanks for letting me ponder!!

A 50 mg increase of Zoloft back to the prescribed dose has eased it a lot today,

though. :) Thanks to all.

*********** Hi ,

I'd say that you have hit the nail on the head. Once the worrying

interferes with one's ability to function, it's goes from being subclinical

to true

OCD in my book.
