Guest guest
I was quite sore all over today, especially my legs still. I never knew my quadriceps could hurt quite so much (in such a good way too). As that has started to fade though, I noticed a little while ago that I'm aware of soreness in my inner and outer thighs!! I love Cathe!! :-) Anyway, because of the soreness, I decided to take it easier and do a light cardio & yoga workout today. I did cardio workout 1 from Freytag's Personal Training DVD plus the warmup and cooldown for about 20 minutes + worth of work. It was just right. Some high impact/high intensity but not too much pounding and I got a decent enough quick workout from it. I like Chris. I didn't at first but she's definitely growing on me. I'm waiting for notification that some Amazon credits I had from a points site were available and when they are, I'm ordering 10 lb Slimdown for FREE from Amazon. An interesting thing happened while doing the hips, knees & feet or whatever it is called practice on the beginner menu of Body Wisdom's Yoga For Every Body... I was expecting to have absolutely no flexibility, because of how sore my legs were especially (arms are not too bad yet but they do make me aware of their presence) but I was actually able to put my heels down on the floor during down dog (first time ever, they weren't totally taking weight but most of the surface was grazing the floor at least) and do lots of other things that I normally can't do. How bizarre!! But it felt so good and natural, not trying to push myself into the pose, too. I really enjoyed the practice, which I picked purposely to get some more stretch to the lower body muscles. I might need to do more of an upper body emphasis practice tomorrow if I'm more sore from Upper Body then! ;-) Tomorrow I'm doing a meeting at 6:30 AM, then I have a doc appointment then stuff with the kids planned. This is my first Thursday without a noon meeting in almost 2 years and it I'm thrilled that we can do something together during the day. Miriam is done with dance too, which is on Thursday nights, so nothing in the eveing either! I'm hoping to do a more intense and hopefully longer cardio workout in the later afternoon. Friday I'm planning for some kind of circuit workout. I'll have to figure out what before each of those workouts to help ensure they happen but I've done 3 days so far this week and that feels good. it is a dark and stormy afternoon turning evening, with intermittent periods of bright sunshine that momentarily fool you into thinking the storms have passed. That's Michigan weather for ya though!

Guest guest
It felt really good! I don't know if it will ever happen again, but it was nice that it did once! :-) Re: Personal Training & yoga I'm happy for you that you were able to put your heels down during down dog.
