Guest guest
That is very sad. It doesn't sound too promising. I know so many people in this situation. They just can't find the inspiration. It's tragic. They might not be able to visualize full scope of the rewards. Being thinner is just a side effect of the hard work. It's about realizing you have the strength and tenacity to go after something difficult. This just unlocks all sorts of doors in life. You don't know how strong you are until you make a serious effort. oh i agree surgery can be life saving! this woman might have been a great candidate by her weight alone. but it has made it easy way out where people can say i can do this lose weight and not have to change. my MIL does NOT do her follow up work with a nutritionist and therapist to change her behavior (and she wasn't even close to 400lbs). she just wants to continue to not exercise and eat crap. the surgery is more then just getting it done, there is a whole process that is suppose to go with it. the point is she is still sick b/c she thought this "magic way" would solve all her problems. even poor carnie wilson went through it but not much changed for her. surgery will only work for those that fully embrace the change and the process, which is JUST has hard of work as this women doing it on her own. so i do commend them too, they just don't get the same media attention but they should. I think she's very courageous. I hope she inspires other people to do the hard work, and to stick with it. Imagine the emotional work that went along with this! That's tough too. This path is much more rewarding, but not everybody has this in them, so I'm glad there are other ways to save lives.
