Re: humility, off to do some spinning!

Hi , LOL, loved this story!! :-D Sounds like you made the right choice to hit the spin bike instead. But yeah - what eveyone else said, hope you can try again after your half marathon!Still too chicken to try my offroad skates on the trail, Sara>> First of all I have major DOMS in just about every part of my body from> yesterday's kettlebell workout except for my legs, and I can feel them> slowly creeping in there too.> > I felt like doing something different for my workout today. I think it's the same as my problem finding proper shoes for cardio - I won't know until I wear the skates for a while if they're the ones for me so I can't buy them online or anything. There's a skate shop in Queens run by derby girls but it's pretty far to go for recreational skating once in a while. From the matches I've seen I think intentional pushing/tripping is a rule infraction but you do tend to fall down a lot and the sport can get pretty aggressive, yeah. But at the end of the match everyone heads out to the bar for some bonding time so it's all good. And the names the women give themselves are a riot - I would skate just for that!NamikoTo: exercisevideos Sent: Thursday, June 9, 2011 2:19 PMSubject: Re: Re: humility, off to do some spinning!

Sounds like you need a different pair of skates, Namiko. You might still be able to do it, just not in those. I've thought about roller derby too but when it comes right down to it, I'm not that physically aggressive and it wouldn't work for me. The thought of intentionally pushing someone down (or intentionally being pushed down) horrifies me actually. I love the speed of it though.

Re: humility, off to do some spinning!

Every now and then I pull out my quads, thinking that maybe, this time, I can miraculously put them on and voila! skate like I used to, but nope. For some reason these particular skates kill my feet. My arches ache so much after even five minutes that I have to take them off. I can't even walk on the grass with them on. It's so puzzling and depressing because I used to love roller skating when I was a kid. I was even hoping that I could join the rec league of the local roller derby team but my hopes were dashed pretty severely.Tl:dr - I feel your pain!Maybe this can become your new challenge after your half marathon though, no? :)Namiko>> First of all I have major DOMS in just about every part of my body from> yesterday's kettlebell workout except for my legs, and I can feel them> slowly creeping in there too.> > I felt like doing something different for my workout today.
