Guest guest
Hi !The lack of mirror cueing on these workouts is a bit irritating to me - I typically opt for following them, but being "opposite"!Donna To: exercisevideos Sent: Wed, May 18, 2011 9:26:56 PMSubject: Rodney Yee Power Yoga: Stamina This morning, running fast as usual lately, I did a 20 minute virgin yoga workout, Rodney Yee's Power Yoga for Beginners: Stamina. There's also Power & Flexibility as other titles in this series and I have those also but haven't done them either. This one was very good but definitely not for yoga beginners. I really liked it and felt energized and peaceful when I was done but there were a few things that could have made it even better... it goes very fast, very, very fast. I prefer to hold poses longer than one or two breaths. You do rest frequently in down dog (for 3 or 4 breaths) but that's it and that's why this is not even slightly for beginners (plus there are few form pointers or instructions, just cues for the poses). It is voice over and his voice and movements don't always match (they're not terrible, but enough that this being my first time through and because I didn't preview it, I found it a bit distracting sometimes). He doesn't mirror cue and that always bugs me but it wasn't terrible either. Other than that though, it honestly was really good. You start out doing sun salutations with some modifications and then he goes to full poses and then adds in other cool things like boat and camel. It all flowed really well. There's a good description of the flow in a VF review (http://www.videofitness.com/reviewsdb/disp_review.php?id=2907). I look forward to trying the Power & Flexibility workouts soon too!
