Darcy, I am constantly amazed at the level and intensity of your workouts during your pregnancy. I wish I had been around this group when I was pregnant -you're such an inspiration!NamikoTo: Cathe_Friedrich_Fans ; exercisevideos <exercisevideos >; workout.notes Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2011 9:00

Oofda. This one just didn't go over well. A bit too bouncy and too much oblique twisting to make it comfortable with a pregnant belly. I won't be doing anymore Turbofire until well after this baby is born. However, with that said I did enjoy parts of it, but mostly I was uncomfortable and not waiting for it to end. I was surprised when I seen I had burned 324 calories with my average at 128 in the end though. :)

Kaysar and I will be going to school today to watch the boys at their track and field day. They get to race classmates. They are soooo excited. It's also fun to watch. I need to dig out my cord for my camcorder though, so I can get my battery charged...ugh..

Enjoy your Tuesdays!D

I agree, this is a great workout but not if you're pregnant!   I've never been pregnant before so I'm curious Darcy do you get food cravings as if you were pms-ing or is it worse and all the time?

The cravings and appetite is different w/ each person (naturally), but for me yes.  I just have a very hard time controlling what I put in my mouth.  Maybe a lot of it is mental??   I'm sure not all though.  I just want certain food... some of the healthier food doesn't sound good..etc..  It's just " different " .  But, honestly.  I think a lot of it is mindset..........  I don't do TERRIBLE, but not very " good " either :(

I used to scoff at the "pickles and ice cream" type cravings that you read about, but wouldn't you know it, I absolutely craved gherkins early on. Ate them straight out of the jar. And then I never ate them again after my son was born. So I hear you about the crazy hormones! NamikoTo: exercisevideos Sent: Tuesday,

Pregnancy hormones -- what a dreadful memory. I was " high risk " with my second

son, and the doctor gave me EXTRA hormones to help prevent another

miscarriage...Oh, man... They turned me into " Screaming Mimi! " A real banshee!

I'd get the shots once a week, on Fridays. I took my 3-year-old to my mom's

house for the weekend to get him out of harm's way. DH knew to batten down the

hatches to weather the storm, because I was going to blow! One of the worse

parts about it was watching myself react like that. I am normally a very calm

person, but very little things would set me off!

Luckily, I only needed those shots for the first trimester... I got a very

wonder son out of it (who is now 6'2 " ), but he was my last attempt!

Well Darcy you always seem to shed whatever you gain - you are one of the most fit mommas I know!  Cravings are interesting.  Do we crave because we are missing something in our diet, is it psychological, or hormone driven?  All of the above?

Ugh, that sounds terrible!!  So glad it's in the past for you :)  Yeah, this pregnancy has been much different than my other three.  I'm almost glad it's been so much harder because I will remember THIS one should I miss being pregnant again....  While I do surely enjoy being pregnant, this one has been tough.  I will be glad to close the " pregnancy " and making healthy babies chapter in my book, and just focus on family!

Hmm...cravings. When I was pregnant I didn't have a craving for anything in particular, but certain foods sort of repulsed me and didn't taste good. Weird, huh? I'm a big coffee nut, but I could not drink coffee, the smell, everything was yuck. I also couldn't handle parsnips and beef.

I don't generally get food specific cravings, more like "general" cravings like "carbs" or "salt"

I think it is probably a combo of all three!

Quick reply from me...

Cravings (at least non-pregnancy ones) are all of the above plus deprivation. If you deprive yourself of something you enjoy, sooner or later, you're going to be craving it. If you don't give in then a lot of times you try to find substitutes, none of which quite work, so you often end up taking in more calories than you would have had you just had what you were craving or you eventually eat what you're craving but way more than you were really hungry for.

Cravings are an interesting subject, . I haven't looked at the research,

but there are those who think we crave the things our body needs and so cravings

aren't totally emotional/psychological. I'm not sure how much truth there is to

this, but I've wondered.
