Guest guest
Debbie - this is good information to know. We are also in Los Angeles and the Regional Center would not do an assessment to diagnose my son, basically said well he has autism and OCD goes along with it. Please let me know the Dr name, date of study and other data like a website for the OCD clinic there, if they have one. I am glad to know they have this at UCLA. Of course it is a drive from downtown LA, but can get there by avoiding freeways, which is my phobia. It's free and is only for one day. They told me that they would interview both dh and I with our son. Then they'd have us do tasks with our son for 15 to 30 minutes. (not sure what that would be). After this is complete, the Dr will let us know if our son is definately diagnosed with ocd, and how to treat it. Whether she feels behavioral therapy would work, or medication, or both, and where we should go from there. It sounds great to me! It will be nice to have an official diagnosis. If anyone else would like to join this study, I can foward you the phone number.
