is really, really good advice to those of you who may

be newbies ... in the old days folks argued over how

many angels could dance on the head of a pin, but

here we argue over molecules ...

Just to clarify: the copra producers work for themselves and are not

literally slaves. But they are trapped in a system where there is no

other means of earning an income and the structures of our market-

driven global economy make them very vulnerable to price fluctuations

over which they have no control. It is this that makes them feel

enslaved. Moreover, the process of making copra (which they do on

their own little farms) is a very dirty tedious laborious process……

They hate the work but usually have no other options for trying to

earn an income for medical needs, school fees, clothes etc.
