Guest guest
good tim , will be good to meet you another washingotn dc tale: we all had dinner thanks to Gwen's planning . thursday night. washingotn is mostly a grid pattern but they sneak in some diagonal streets.. i took the metro to the restauarnt as my cheapo hotel the red roof inn seemed to be not near anyone else's... but we all started walking home together. Beautiful summer evening , great company . of course I had only a sorta vague idea where i was .Hmm the red roof inn is off to the rigth and maybe ahead... but gordon's hotel- a non - cheapo i believe -- turned out to be near mine so he led me to where I needed to be. Again. come on! That's a great story! Then i gave the unused part of the round trip Metro ticket to the desk lady at the hotel 'cuz she had been very nice to me when I arrived haggard and stuck in a room with rock music blaring fromt he basketball team next door.. I said you live here- you use this metro thing? There is $ 1.35 on this card- want it? And she leaned out over the counter and grasped my hands and said oh Mrs antonucci( I am actually Mrs Ken Burke but we will not go there) this will get me home tongiht .Thank you thank you. That was way fun! Then there is the ugandan lady with the pushcart that I bought my morning banana form and granola bars, on 7 th st every am, to avoid teh convention center prices. And one afternoon i was steeling myself for just one more late afternoon 2 hr conference and i DID NOT want to pay all that money for a cup of tea so i had my cup and tea bag in it fromt eh mornign and i said how much just for hot water and the lady in the convention center high priced place did it for free so i gave her a dollar and said do not put that in t he tip jar it is YOURs . and she stuck it in her pocket. impishly, jean Re: IMP meeting > > > > Dear , > I would like to second your suggestion of an interim IMP meeting. > Though RJ and I are out of the insurance/billing business loop that > tends predominates the listserv, there are still a TON of issues > that we share in common.
