Hello everyone,

I also belong to the NFB-autism group. I received lots of useful information

from members on their list. I'm still a little confused and was hoping someone

on this list can help me.

I have an 18 year old autistic son, nonverbal. Through many alternative

therapies (diet, secretin, supplements, enzymes, aba, etc.), he went from

severely autistic to moderately autistic. Some of the therapies helped, most

didn't.

I look back and cannot believe that he's 18. I still have not given up hope and

I still search to see if I can help him function more independently and

hopefully open the door to help him communicate.

I just recently found out about neurofeedback for autism. My boss mentioned it

to me. He found out about it during a business trip to Thailand and apparently

it's a method they use over there. I've been reading alot about it in order to

educate myself.

There are many different NFB machines, etc. I know that my son will need many

many sessions. The best scenario for him would be to do it at home because it's

where he's most comfortable. It will also be more economical for us since I'm

the only one employed. I hear about home training, etc. which I'm willing to do

because I want to approach this the right way.

I guess my question is.....what equipment should we use. Does anyone have any

referrals to any NFB providers Any one use NFB with the autistic population?

Thanks so much for listenting,

,

DJ's Mom
