Guest guest
Oh Reg you don't even want to get me started on all the different people telling me that my child will have issues (be retarded, have downs, have a brain that is not fully developed, have nervous problems, etc) if I don't eat meat and consume dairy! At first I laughed at them. Now I struggle not to let it get to me. " ...become the change you envision." Nothing will be wrong with your child.Who said if you don't eat dairy and meat your child will be retarded? We're living in the stone ages aren't we? >> no you aren't being too strong. > I don't think I have any type of eating disorder. HOwever, I'm being told by friends here that I'm stressing far too much at times about what I eat for baby. I know in general I do eat healthy. I should calm down. I think it's the pressure and wagging fingers I"m getting from family/inlaws who are making me feel like I'm starving and depriving my child of proper nutrients by not eating meat or dairy that is getting to me. Some have even out right told me that if I don't eat dairy and meat my child will be retarded. I know this isn't true, but being the only veg in the family or that they know, their stupid ideas are starting to stress me out. SO that if one small thing, G-d fobid, should be wrong with my baby they will be very quick to blame me and my diet for it for the rest of my life. > > "...become the change you envision" _ > > Re: have you tried soy kefir? Guest guest
, It's an all too common theme for those of us who decided to take a different road - and much too draining to be battling on so many fronts - it's enough just to have a baby - don't know why the whole world thinks it's ok to give mommy advice (even strangers!!) - mothers really are best equipped if they follow their internal instincts. I had plenty of fears pre-birth - but nothing, but nothing, beat the peace and quiet of just lying with my baby and watching her/him nurse. Go for a walk (if not too cold) and breath - and find stuff you love to keep you occupied, not your fears. and do have some sweet vegetable drink Klarapurpleveg wrote: it's a test on your patience. I wonder how they'd like it if you started to give anti meat lectures or made them watch the meetyourmeat video and explained that the slaughter of animals is cruel and unnecessary. You may want to start giving lectures on religion and how if they read the bible correctly they'd see they are not supposed to eat animals and are not to do any harm, etc. Or you can simply be quiet and know they are mental.R> >> > no you aren't being too strong. > > I don't think I have any type of eating disorder.
