I found these posts interesting, as my son's main OCD right now is his fear

that he WILL forget something. This results in lists he creates in his head

that obsessively repeat until he can't stand it and then he manically writes

down the lists. The funny thing is (unlike his mother), he is not forgetful,

just painfully afraid that might be! - in MI

I have been just " lurking " the past week or so, as most of my efforts

have been in getting ready for an appraisor to come (trying to refinance

mortgage...)

Over 20 hours were spent, most of them by yours truly, in 's OCD

haven. What a lot of junk!!! And in no order whatsoever. did

help me though, and had no problem throwing things away. Yipee! Only

had a problem when it came to stuffed animals. No matter what their

condition, he had to keep them all. (He is 15) They were all special

for whatever reason. I chose not to fight that battle. Was happy with

getting rid of wrappers, pop cans, empty Dinty beef stew

containers, scraps of papers, etc. Got through 2/3 of the room before

assessor came. Dave and his older brother, 19 ( " normal " but a slob)

who shares the room with him, have been cleaning the rest of it. Here's

another reason I know the OCD is a bit better --_ I_ was the one who

wore the gloves!

As far as organization in other areas, homework assignments can be

forgotten. This morning I got him up early to finish his math and found

out he also had a 4-page Biology 2 assingnment which he " forgot to tell

me about. " Well, we got the science and some of the math done.
