I want to thank everyone for your input; all great ideas to think about.

I agree that word-of-mouth advertising is best and most efficient, but in my

neck of the woods, I feel I need to 1. continue to educate people that I am

back into family practice, and 2. how my approach is now different than

before.

The idea of " branding " kept ringing in my head, that is, the kind of

advertising that assigns an image and emotion in people's minds when they see

the ads. Images and emotions of quality and confidence and reliability. I have

read that branding in advertising is becoming an overused, and at times,

misused term, but I like the idea since I am also slowly evolving into more

than just a clinical practice. I call my practice an integrative medicine

practice and I am continually studying more healing methods. I will start

teaching Qi Gong to the community soon outdoors, and I plan to offer classes

on various health aspects. I would eventually like to invite faculty to teach

on topics beyond my expertise, like art therapy, etc.

So the idea of branding who I am and what I do in general appeals to me. I

admit this sounds like a daunting task, especially now that I read this back.

But over time the word will spread and advertising will likely play a lesser

role.

By the way, I found a book, ng Health Services, but I didn't like the

comments about it as much as the book, Marketing Your Clinical Practice by

Neil Baum. I bought it used for 69 dollars, I think. When I read it I will

offer a book report to you all. Check it out, and the comments, on Amazon. I

was impressed. It not only told how to market, but how to reach out to the

community in a marketing way.

Uh, oh, rambling. thanks again.
