Guest guest
Hi Permission to Repost Eliazabeth has replied thus: Dear Trevor Thank you for letting me know about your discussions with others. I was glad to have the opportunity to meet on Wednesday and am sorry I had to leave early which meant we couldn't finish our conversation properly. I am not sure what you said to your network subsequently but there seems to be an interpretation that MRC is objecting to a demonstration and ignoring patient concerns. This really is not the case. If you would find it useful to talk further please give me your contact number and I will call next Wednesday or Thursday when I am back in the office. So I too have replied Dear Below is a copy of the letter I sent out: She was sent a copy of the letter along with the following further responces: Trev, maybe you could also send her a copy of Prof Hooper's DVD ! (this costs £5 inc p & p not much for a large department, apparently it's good, I'm waiting for my copy) Trev I hope one day they might actually have something to say that might be helpful to our cause, I guess we have to live in hope that they might just justify their wages every week one day. Trev If I did live in London I would be prepared to demonstrate outside the MRC every week! Demos maybe the way we have to go. Good point Trev. And they should be embarrassed with how they've treated the illness: with the applications they've turned down and accepted, with the way they behaved with the MRC strategy (biased committee, rubbish draft strategy, report on draft strategy that the PHRU prepared omitted from the final strategy, final strategy ignoring comments on the draft strategy, no emphasis on the need to study causes, etc), etc. Trev I would have said " To expose the corruption at the MRC. " It was only a year or so ago that the Government published a damning report on the MRC. AS one Labour front bencher said to me " If the MRC are wasting money we NEED to know about it. " I don't suppose there are many if any demos outside the MRC so it is more likely that people will take notice of it. It could be very newsworthy! Hope a few people make it down. Now we wait to see whatshe has got to say, I have given her my mobile No so she can contact me Trev MERSC Patron: um - The UK's No 1 Celebrity Sufferer
