Dear List,

I used a terrible choice of words to reply to Carol's compassionate post. I

did not mean to imply that Carol's post " bugged " me!!! What I meant was

that it really bugs me that there is such an abyss between need and

availability, and that only the well-off can afford " designer " food, when

nutritious food should be the birthright of all people.

I did not intend in any way to minimize Carol's compassionate concern. To

Carol I express my deepest apology for having seemed so arrogant, and to the

list, I thank you for tolerating my long dissertations. I know I get

carried away.
