Guest guest
's book is indeed a work of art. I was disappointed that my daughter didn't go for it, so it's mine now. I had guests whom I had loaned the book to and told her to choose one of the recipes for me to make for her. Well, she went for simple, and part of me was grateful and part of me disappointed (not sure why I need guests to allow myself to create fancy) so she chose the Persimmon Rice Pudding (p. 55) - I compared it to how I usually make rice pudding and judged it too wide, but proceeded anyway. Then I goofed, as I had bought fresh persimmons and saw that it called for dried - I substituted dried organic apricots (I LOVE those) and raisins and proceeded. It didn't absorb the liquid in the time mentioned so I just cooked it longer - my guests raved over it - and I had to admit, it was wonderful - they were amazed that no added sweeteners were in it. , can you get 's permission to post here the full recipe (well, I gave it mostly away - the other wide ingredient was soy milk, (and vanilla extract and cardamom) so those of you who love experimenting, do)? I keep meaning to try some of the other luscious looking desserts. Sorry it still looks wide, but I guess I'll have to look closer - which recipes have been tried by others?? I felt more connected to the mb community when I realized had married Sanae who used to give cooking demos at Erewhon's in L.A. when I was there visiting my folks. It's funny how our memories work, I can't remember alot of my past, but her demo for simple green beans with almonds just made an impression in my head that sticks. Guest guest
Hi Klara, I have not talked to directly, he has someone that handles the book sales for him and when I asked about sharing a few recipes as I like to for most books, he did not want to unfortunately. Oh well. Great that the pudding worked out overall for you and it would be nice for us to let everyone else know which recipes worked really well in it. We ran out of the first batch of books we got, so I had to give up what was to be my own copy to a customer. More are in again so I gotta claim one for myself. It's like L's " Love, " book, and it has an additional section for other types of baked goods, totaling 68 recipes in all. My friend brought it to me from Japan. It's actually bilingual! Macrobiotic Breads and Sweets from Deco's Kitchen Ilanit, it has the loveliest section on using starters for all types of breads, and it has some tasty looking stuffed buns that we had just been talking about. I'm so excited! Yum! All-new Yahoo! Mail - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates. Guest guest
It’s actually someone named Doug Clayton who handles the sales. It says on the back cover that is currently the Head Pastry Chef for the M cafe de - anybody on this list that lives in the L.A. area and can maybe talk to him personally??? and even more, tell us how it tastes, being made by him!!!!! <garydiscountnaturalfoods> wrote: Hi Klara, I have not talked to directly, he has someone that handles the book sales for him and when I asked about sharing a few recipes as I like to for most books, he did not want to unfortunately. Oh well. Great that the pudding worked out overall for you and it would be nice for us to let everyone else know which recipes worked really well in it. We ran out of the first batch of books we got, so I had to give up what was to be my own copy to a customer. More are in again so I gotta claim one for myself. Guest guest
May I ask what class this was, and what is "KI"? I must have missed the post that this refers to. Sounds intriguing. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for getting me to see that I completely missed what you were trying to say. That this is an entirely different book. I had no real luck tracking it down, I saw an online seller in Japan and that was it. I could not locate a web site for the publisher or phone number, but it does sound intriguing to offer here. It's not 's book that I'm referring to selling, it's the one from Japan, Macrobiotic Breads and Sweets (perhaps better than 's, I have to say, as much as I love his book!) > > Hi , > > > > Thanks for thinking of me in terms of selling 's book.
