Guest guest
Hi , My better half and I got to DC this morning. We visited the National Cathedral and the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials. What a GORGEOUS day for sight seeing! We are at the Four Points Sheraton trying to decide what to do for dinner. I just read a huge pile of email, but nobody but you and Shirley Pigott has emailed that they are here yet. Are you going to the Rally in the morning? Annie Howdy from DC Hi gang! I’m here at the Homewood Suites in DC – what a great place! Kudos to Gwen! Anyone else here yet? I’m in room 522. Too bad there’s not a hot tub - only drawback. A. Guest guest
, I will be arriving tomorrow (also at the Homewood Suites), but I would assume that the hotel has internet in the rooms. Is that true? It certainly will make my wife happier. Howdy from DC Hi gang! I’m here at the Homewood Suites in DC – what a great place! Kudos to Gwen! Anyone else here yet? I’m in room 522. Guest guest
Hi & everyone who couldn't make it to D.C. Here is my first day report: The rally this morning was fun. It seemed President Fields focused on malpractice reform, which I guess is something all of us fp's could agree on. The crowd wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but there was a general spirit of pulling together. Some of the states planned meetings with their representatives before hand, which I wish I would have done. I couldn't find the California sign marking the group from my state. I've attached a photo of me at the rally. My friend who lives in D.C. & teaches ethics and economics at a Jesuit high school enjoyed hearing about end of life care after the talk I went to & I'm enjoying his knowledge of ethnic restaurants! He heard about our rally on the radio, so at least it got play locally. There were a fair number of reporters there, but I didn't see any big names (no CNN trucks, etc.) & I have left phone messages for each other, but I haven't found anyone from the group yet. Tomorrow is one of Gordon's talks, so we'll probably meet up there. I heard a good talks on eating disorders, living with chronic disease, and palliative care. It is good to get together with other family docs, it always strikes me as much I like the others in my field! Another report tomorrow.....wish everyone was here. Guest guest
Hi , I don’t have a camera, but was thinking about you this evening and really wishing you were here. You are such an integral part of this effort, it seems somehow not right to be here without you. I sure hope we will meet up again in Chicago next year. Take good care of yourself!
