Any suggestions for Naturopathic ideas or therapies appreciated.

52 yr old male, 2 year post prostate cancer surgery with symptoms of polyuria,

nocturia 3x/night, occassional bedwetting, and sensation of pain above pubic

region. Sense of irritation in bladder is worst as day progresses and worst

with gas and bloating in gut. Loss of appetite because he associates gas and

bloating with eating and worsening of bladder symptoms. Urinary infections

ruled out. Cystocopy negative for inflammation and interstitial cystitis. No

signs of nerve damage. MDs have not been able to find reason for symptoms

post-surgery.

Hx of strong antibiotic use during hospital stay. Trial of nystatin for gas and

bloating with some reduction for what wife thought could be Candida, but

symptoms returned with discontinuation.

90 days post-prostate surgery given Viagra for circulation.

tried dextral and elmiron with no change in urinary symptoms. Tried Q2 bladder

which contains quercitin and glutamine- no change.

Life turned upside down in last 2 years since diagnosis and surgery and urinary

symptoms really upsetting him.

Question: Was on celexa 60mg and it really helped with night urination as well

as bedwetting, but not constant urinary sense of irritation. he doesn't want to

go back on celexa b/c side effects. Anyone know mechanism of celexa and urinary

control here?

It's a tough case. I am starting with acupuncture to help strengthen kidney and

bladder function. unda 2, 7, 44, 38 to drain urinary bladder area out. Running

an adrenal profile to check stress and how to support. amino acid profile

(neurotransmitter from Neurosciene cand nutreval from Genova) to see if I can

find any clues to affects of celexa and urine.

Starting on Chinese herbal formula and digestive enzymes for gas and bloating.

Awaiting stool test. It's only been 2 weeks working with him, but he's pretty

frustated with his condidtion.

Minimal improvements so far- maybe some from acupuncture and since started him

on 5htp 200mg- nocturia decreased to once, but upset by bedwetting. I think

little response to the above unda set dosed acutely, considering 23, 7, 45 next

for polyuria, nocturia, and bedwetting.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Was told these are not typical symptoms

post prostate cancer surgery.

Thanks.
