Guest guest
HI AndyDass I just had to reply - you sound like a lot of fun! A HinJew!!! That me rolling int he aisles! you sound like someone who Shiitake would like to meet. You can find the first couple of chapters of her adventures at my blog http://www.energizedeating.com/blog/index.php/2006/05/28/zen-ken/ and the latest ones in Macrobiotics Today magazine which you can download at www.cybermacro.com Andy wrote: Just came in to introduce myself during my break. I'm andy and some close friends call me avi and even closer friends call me avi yama dass and some people don't call me at all : )~ LOL I'm from New York...Long Island to be exact. Cold Spring Harbor...had been home to the likes of , and Yoko, Dee Snyder, Harry Chapin, yada yada yada. 45 minutes to Manhatten. So now that you know where I live.. Klara is the one you can complain to for bringing me in here..lol. I had said one of the reasons I wanted to check you all out was because I was getting bored with some of the other sites. Mainly because of the lack of activity. Felt like I was talking to myself (unless Klara was there). Who knows...maybe I cleared the rooms out...lol. I started with Macrobiotics many many moons ago and it eventually fell to the wayside...kinda like getting a treadmill. The good intentions are there but stuff pops up and you take a different turn..yet I'm back again. Been full fledged macro now since Jan 1 06. Totally back into the swing of it and believe I will be staying in it the rest of my days on this rock. Its become part of me!! Can't say I'm vegan but close if there's such a thing. Only meat I eat is white fleshed fish only on occasion and thats it. No milk, no animals (other than fish), no eggs..etc etc. Its no biggie cause I was never really a meat person. I practice meditation as much as possible. I've always had a meditation room as well. A big influence on my life has been Ram Dass who I spent a week with every year until he fell sick the past cpl of years. Ram Dass,Krishna Dass, Surya Dass..all the Dass's..lol.. the whole gang have been part of my world for quite awhile. I practiced Judisam growing up attending Hebrew school six days a week for about seven years and yet my interests in spirituality had grown into other arenas as well. I must confess that I attached myself to Buddhism/Hinduism quite a long time ago...decades ago but haven't given up Judisam...I'm what I call a self proclaimed "HinJew" : ) I just add to who I am is all. Mostly I spend my days building...doing renovations and restoration work. Currently doing a house I bought about five years ago. Circa:1680. You can read about it and see some of my work in my website. HTTP://WWW.CLIFFORDRENOVATIONS.COM It's going to take a bit of time for me to be able to navigate this new home here so please bear with me...I'm guessing I'm going to get the stoopids trying to figure my way around. Going to try and figure out how to post some pictures in case you're interested. Pic of my work, my travels, Ram Dass and me, the building of my meditation room...blah blah blah : ) So untill then...thank you Klara and everyone else for having me in your home Namaste'/Shalom/later ~ ~ ~ back to work now andy aka avi yama dass : )~ yikessss, no spell check? ut oh,,lol -- Ilanit Tof - Signature Ilanit Ms Ilanit Tof B.A. (Psychophysiology/Psychology) Advanced Diploma Healing with Wholefoods PhD Holistic Nutrition (candidate) Little Tree Oriental Healing Arts Helping you grow to new heights of wellbeing with Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition ilanit@... www.littletree.com.au

Fantastic book and no..its not about food or macrobiotics but the similarity I see to some Buddhist ways transformed to a Western culture are uncanny. Hence something Macroheads should enjoy if you can translate it to something useful to your lives. HE speaks of the Hedge hog concept created by a Jewish man by the name of Isaiah Berlin who you should all check out. He's wuite an interesting soul. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaiah_Berlin I JUST bought his book used through Amazon en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hedgehog_and_the_Fox - 18k The hedgehog a small porcupine looking animal sees life as simple and focused caring abou todays lunch and taking care of his home. The ox on the other hand is sly, cunning, beautiful, fast and focused in many directions. The hedgehog goes about his day waddling around looking for food...the fox sees him and wants to go in for the kill. The fox takes off at lightening speed in all his glory and the hedgehog looks up and says to him self...oh shid here we go again...lol...and curls up in a sphere with his long sharp quills facing in all directions...the fox retreats...again. The hedge hog always wins. He's simple yet focused. Jim direct those actions towards huge companies but not just because he wants to speak to entapenours but because he can trace and track large companies to make his point. I first saw him on a PBS special. Pretty remarkable guy. I think we can use this philosophy in our every day lives as well as in business so I thought I'd turn all you all on to this stuff if you're already not familiar with it. I for one try and keep my world somewhat rounded looking in areas that I might never seek out b/c it doesn't " appear " to relate to my world. Bad idea. I sorta got that when I read The Art Of War many many years ago...another great book that was written a very very long time ago by I think it was JApaneses Generals. It was a well thought out strategy to fight wars later also used by big businesses. Anyway...happy reading y'all Ne well Namaste avi yama dass aka andy : )~
