Guest guest
Wow! What a story! That's so cool that you are swaying them from " the darkside " haha! Anyway, I am pretty new here...how long have you been doing this, how much have you lost, and can we see your pics too? You don't have to answer, but I was just curious. Guest guest
My husband's grandmother tried this on me(and him) one day, too, saying that we were 'getting too thin'(I'm 135 lbs./5'5 " and my husband is 170 lbs./5'6 " ) and when were we 'going to stop dieting'. I explained to her the way the program works, and she cautioned me, saying we were going to get too skinny and look bad when we were old. This is from a family where almost everyone is overweight and there's always too much food at every gathering. I took it with a grain of salt, but I wanted to laugh. A while ago there was a thrown together family gathering, and we brought our own food(it was the day after free day). She couldn't help herself but try to convince to just have a little of this or that. Well, I'm not stopping either, 'cuz I don't need a Wisconsin butt(extra wide load)! I save the burgers and brats and munchies for free day and hardly even miss them in week 11! Angie > Well wasn't I shocked yesterday when a very good friend of mine > invited me to dinner. Guest guest
Obsession? Most people are obsessed with sitting in front of the TV too much and munching down on food. I'd much rather have someone " intervene " in this case, but I am sure no one would. Or if someone is eating fast food for lunch everyday, we could say they are obsessed with fast food. Am I obsessed with cleanliness since I like to shower every day? The funny thing is that people seem to ignore the fact that we are eating 6 meals per day. It isn't like we have stopped eating. And we aren't obsessed with exercise. It is just a natural part of our daily routine. People could accuse you of being obsessed with a lot of things just because you do them. I'd like to know since when exercise and eating right was bad for your health. Most people need to take the time to look in the mirror at themselves instead of worrying too much about other people that they don't need to worry about. It is too bad that you had to explain everything to them. It would have been a more positive situation had they asked you how you had lost the weight, what you were doing for exercise, etc. They should have been asking questions. We have to be rigid in our eating plan or BFL won't work very well. They should understand that one can never be finished concerning diet and exercise. If you finish, where do you go from there? Back to where you used to be before you started. What is the point? Good that you could educate them and a good idea to buy them all copies of the book. Guest guest
Dianne, I think it's nice of your friends to be concerned! But from their reaction I'd say it's probably because you look fantastic. Not to be mean, but do you think they might be the teensy-weensy-ist bit jealous? Its funny the reactions that people have to stars and girls that are very lean. " They " even made Barbie fatter because they didn't want little girls to wonder why they don't have a 12 inch waist or something like that. The AMAZING thing is that if you compare deaths in the US caused by obesity to the deaths caused by being too lean, I'd say the obesity wins by a landslide! I'd love to do some research on the statistics. But you're right, you are soooooo much healthier lean than overweight. GOOD FOR YOU! Congratulations. I can't wait until I get lean enough to get an intervention! ha ha ha h Jeanne
Guest guest
Dianne, All I can say is wow. I can't possibly imagine being in your situation. Would I be angry or laugh hysterically? Good for you for turning it into an opportunity to teach them about BFL! > Funny how when you start getting > healthy and > really taking control people can feel threatened by > it. __________________________________________________
