Guest guest
Dang it! I get upset when somebody else tells me how to practice medicine! If it provides useful information, do it as an unlisted cardiovascular procedure. You should reasonably charge less than the "CPT procedure" and get paid! If you don't get paid, then we need to work together with AAFP, AMA, ACP, and our state academies to change it. We need to tell AMA to put in the procedure we actually perform! (Sorry for yelling.) ShirleyTexasI agree that it is a clinically useful test without having to have any form of ultrasound at all, but when I was looking at making it a billable procedure in my office, the CPT guidelines for billing it required that you had to record a waveform, not just the BPs. I have the references saved at the office, but I am pretty sure I got the CPT code from Pfenninger's procedure book, and the CPT guidelines straight from my CPT book…..
