Guest guest
Hello trad foodies I am full of gratitude tonight for the spring bounty out here on the farm. The apple trees are in bloom and the perfume is intoxicating. The bees have been flying and as I write this post, is out tending to some hives here at Ames Farm. We have been enjoying the abundance this year of asparagus and I made a delicious risotto tonight using free range chicken broth, fresh asparagus and , well, its not exactly local, but what can I say- there is no substitute for a good italian parmesan. Thanks all for the posts on Morels. My next run on the Luce Line ( tomorrow perhaps?) is sure to include breaks for morel searches. If I find any mushrooms I won't tell, but if I find ticks, I will try not to complain too loudly........ PS the observation hive is ready for action and I think will be bringing bees to the Lyndale Market Saturday. The queen is marked with a red dot so the kids can spot her. -Sue
