Hi Spencer.

I wonder if you are using a Pocket A3?

If so, be sure that your unit is set to HEG mode.

That simple.

If not, please confirm the unit and HEG mode and software you are using

ps- I'd hoped to meet up with you at the AAPB. I remember fondly our talks at the ISNR in 2004.

next time.

Sawtoothed HEG ratio read out on both BE and Brainmaster

I am wondering if I am getting a proper signal on my HEG. I was reviewing Herschel Toomin's instructional DVD and see that his HEG ratio is fairly smooth in its increases and decreases. My read out is very saw toothed -seeming to go up and down with the pulse of the blood flow. Because of this constant pulse it is hard to get meaningful read out/or feedback that doesn't bounce back and forth with each pulse. Is this a hardware problem, an interface problem or a software setting issue? Any suggests on correcting the signal so that it shows more smooth incremental decreases and increases. (I hope this description is helpful I was wanting to attach a screen snap shot of it but could see how to). Thanks -Spencer

Hi , Thanks for remembering! I really enjoyed our talks at ISNR

as well. I haven't been doing as much neurofeedback so it has been

harder to justify a week of conferences- though it was always such a

rich experience I do miss them.

In responce to your hardware question. I have a Brainmaster that I

use the HEG through. There is an intermediate adapter between the

HEG head band and the Brainmaster. I am running BM 2.5 software and

also use the BE software version 1.3 with HEG BE designs down loaded

from I believe herschel's web site. -Spencer

Hi

Excuse me for piggy backing on this thread,

I find sometimes I have an average gain in the minus. Is this a problem or do I

take it as it is and count it as a gain anyway. Maybe there is a way to change

this so I can start from zero.

Cheers Tony
