Guest guest
Thanks so much. There is a receptionist in place (it's a shared office) and she can book far in advance but I didn't know how far in advance was too far. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in DC Moitri"L. Guest guest
Dear Moitri, Remember that you don't want your practice to "heat up" too quickly. I know you may be worried about getting enough patients, but you will still have kinks to work out of your system in the first few weeks after you open. It is more important that everyone who comes to your office is overjoyed with your practice than that you have tons of people the first week. Word of mouth is the best advertising. My advice is that you save some of your marketing for after you open. All this costs money, and you should spread this over the first year. Besides, you will have happy patient quotes to use a little later. Possibly this is a different approach from the one that should be used by a larger group practice and is one difference in setting up a solo practice. Guest guest
I had a number of patients transfer from my old practice when I opened 3 years ago - and it certainly was enough business to keep me busy while I tried to figure out how to do this on my own! It's hard to believe how few patients a day you'll want to see in those first weeks. We appreciate that advice, too. We're opening on the 26th of September and we probably would have contacted newspapers, etc for the big opening day. We are only 5 miles from my husband's current practice, and we are hoping a lot of his pts will switch. I admit to worrying a little that the more that transfer right away will lead to a chaotic experience, which is what we want to avoid. Ok, I admit to worrying about alot of things these days, haha. We'll be thinking about you Moitri! Kari Re: timing of marketingDear Moitri, Remember that you don't want your practice to "heat up" too quickly.
