Guest guest
Hi, Since there are lots of questions about my Neuroband, I decided to stop lurking and answer. http://www.drdiane.com/neuroband_order.html The Neuroband is made up of belt material and Velcro. There is a headband, cross strap(s) and chin strap. You can hand wash the band weekly or daily as you see fit. The pockets which attack the electrodes are made of British chamois and Velcro. I wash these between patients with a disinfectant soap, such as Dial. The conduction solution is made up of Saline and Baby shampoo, which I drench each of the pockets prior to placement on the scalp. Because the pockets have Velcro and the band is Velcro you can place the pockets precisely according to the dimensions of any person's head. The impedance is .5 or below. On the Atlantis, when done correctly it is all steady green lights. For those who purchase the Neuroband 5 years ago, they are still using the same pockets they bought back then. However, since then, I have improved them. As for active leads, I have taken disposable snap made by a major manufacturer and have encased them in the chamois. Thus, you only need to use the saline and baby shampoo mixture and do not have to throw them away. If your equipment does not have the Velcro on the active leads, you can either purchase the sticky Velcro and place it on the top or you can purchase the Velcro from us at the time of ordering. Then the active leads can be easily put on the headband or cross straps. These snap pockets also have been improved over the past 5 years. It takes only 2 minutes to put on the Neuroband. No prep is needed. And 2 seconds to remove, without any clean up. You can purchase the Neuroband on my website ( see above) , or on Bio-Medical.com and in the near future on the brain-trainer.com, all at the same price. There are 4 version of the Neuroband: 2 channel, 4 channel, QEEG and hospital sleep study version. For home training the 2 channel works great. On my website I do not have the 4 channel photo nor photos of the pockets. I've been having problems with my webmaster and hope to have this fixed in the near future. Hopefully this has answered everyone's questions. Best Regards Diane Dr. Diane Stoler, Ed.D., LLC P.O. Guest guest
Hi Bill, Yes, the pockets are wet when you put them on the head. As far as I know the Pendant EEG has different of leads: Active and traditional with wires and cups. The latter form goes into the pockets, while the form are my snap electrode pocket. Both use the saline and baby shampoo mixture. As mentioned in my prior E-mail, the snap are the gel disposable type which are encased in Chamois. Of course the gel has been removed. Therefore, instead of just using the snaps once and throwing them away, you can use them over and over again. No ear clips are not needed on Brain Inquiry. Yes, I use ear clips with Brain Master. I do not own a Pendant, so I can not reply about this. Diane > Diane, > > I second > Mark's request. > > It sounds like you soak these pockets in saline and baby shampoo. Guest guest
Hi Merlyn, I do appreciate the feedback and new idea. As for the video, I'm have major problems with my web master and also I'm out straight with patients and up coming speaking engagement. So the idea of video will not occur for another month or so. I will get this in the works during next month. As for impedance and use, I have been using the Neuroband for 6 year. Yes, been hooked up by Tom C., know him well. Was at his last workshop in August, where I sold 10 Neurobands and everyone there had green lights on the Atlantis 4x4. I work with children from age 2-15 and have not had the problems you mention. Please phone me at and I'll be more than glad to go over any additional help. Guest guest
Hi, I am interesting in your system but am not visual and can't picture how it really works. That is, for example, how do you move the client's hair away from each site to get a good connection to the electrode while they're wearing a headband (or even before you put the headband on, to " clear " each little area for the electrode?) Or am I really not " getting it " ? Is there anybody in New York City using the Neuroband who I could watch? thanks Liz > > I received this and your prior email re: Neuroband. Guest guest
Diane, I wonder if you're still around here. I'm still really wondering what you do to get the hair out of the way. Or is that not necessary with saline? Thanks, or to anybody else using a headband and/or saline approach. I am still struggling mightily with hair and impedances. Tonight my husband and I both did an assessment on me. The impedances were insanely hair unless we PUSHED on the electrodes, and then when we released our fingers the numbers went up again. He was careful not to use too much gel (and to prep at least adequately). I wonder if part of the problem is that I bought very long electrodes? I am really thinking about switching to a saline type of hook-up in Diane's or the other headband. Would love to hear any observations/critiques about gel vs. saline. Guest guest
Hi,I'm looking at company description of the Flexbands now. Please tell me, is this doublespeak or am I just not getting it? (I highlighted in red the discrepancy (?) in question):"Eliminates the need for 10-20 paste on the head. Keeps hair clean - no more goo. FlexTrodes consist of a hollow, screw-like plastic retainer containing a felt wrapper that encloses a standard gold cup electrode. It is used with a retaining ring that can be inserted in a headband, hat, or other holder. This provides a simple, clean, self-abrading and self-cleaning, paste-free and gel-free contact. Used for EEG, EMG, EKG and related body potential recording. Ideal in cases where it is difficult to get a good connection, especially through hair. Electrode lead color our choice. Easy to apply and remove, leaves hair clean without a trace of goo! A must in keeping teenagers and adults happy to come back! For investigational and research purposes only. Each sensor lead wire measures 46 in (116 cm) in length and connects to the TTL T8740 DIN cable which in turn connects to the TTL T9305P02 Sensor Head and also plugs directly into the Brainmaster. AE12 conductive paste is recommended for sensor attachmentHUH? goo-free, but paste is recommended? I don't get it.Also, Diane, if you're reading, how is your headband different from theirs (other than the price?). Thanks. Also -- on the Flexband -- it looks as if the holes are fixed, so does that help or hinder site placement? wouldn't the distance between holes be different with each person?Diane, I assume in your band the user puts the pockets wherever s/he wants them to be?ThanksLiz> > > Diane,> >> > I wonder if you're still around here. Guest guest
Diane, I e-mailed some Neuroband questions to the e-mail link posted under your name here. If that's not a good e-mail for you, could you let me know? I'm interested in ordering a Neuroband but have a few questions, e.g. (1) which one to get (I'd like to be able to attach all 11 electrodes (10 actives and 1 ground) involved in a TLC assessment at once), (2) (I am assuming I keep the linked ear references out of the Band?) and (3) different electrode types (regular or snap, which is better?) If you could give me some guidance about these things I'm ready to order, which I will happily do via your website. Thanks, Liz > > Hi, > > > > > > I'm looking at company description of the > Flexbands now. Please tell me, is this > doublespeak or am I just not getting it?
