Guest guest
How about seitan and vegetable kebabs - you could make a nice sauce to go over the top. Another fun dish one of my clients told me is to grill pears - cut them in half and scoop out the middles - fill them with blueberries - then wrap the pear halves in foil and pop them on the grill - simple and tasty. Blessings barbequed seitan > >We have a barbeque coming up on Tuesday - mostly for meat eaters, I usually have some vegetables - onions, mushrooms, zuchinni - but I'm inviting another mb person, and I thought I'd try making seitan and having it barbequed - anybody ever do that? any suggestions? > Thanks > Klara > > >--------------------------------- >Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell? > Check outnew cars at Yahoo! Guest guest
Yes, I did the kebabs once over the fire with tempeh - great idea. The other mb person is bringing cooked apples, so I'll save the pears for next fire event - but fresh blueberries, I wish I could find them - thanks . Guest guest
Hi Klara, One time I did a BBQ seitan and I could have sworn the recipe was from Jane Quincannon only I can not find it.... You might try something like the modified BBQ sauce below: Saute 1 medium onion, chopped in 1/3 C. oil with 2 cloves of garlic, minced. Stir in: 2 1/2 Cups of no-mato sauce (or tomato sauce), 1/4C. water, 1 Cup brown rice syrup, 1/2C. prepared mustard, 1tsp. sea salt, 1 tsp. allspice, 1 T. crushed red pepper or a little cayenne powder, 1 T. fresh parsley. Bring to a boil and then simmer on low for 30minutes to 1 hour. Add 1/2C. lemon juice and 2T. Tamari and simmer for 10 minutes more... www.Marque.com > > > > > > > We have a barbeque coming up on Tuesday - mostly for meat eaters, I usually > have some vegetables - onions, mushrooms, zuchinni - but I'm inviting > another mb person, and I thought I'd try making seitan and having it > barbequed - anybody ever do that? any suggestions? > Thanks > Klara > > ________________________________ > Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell? > Check out new cars at Yahoo!
