I am going through the same thing Wayne :-) I've been on for just

barely over a week, though I have been doing the challenge for two

weeks and I feel the same way. I end up only reading the posts and

taking what I can get from them and that's about it. It kinda sucks

being a newbie.

(Note to self: Brevity is a good thing)

Yeah, what Andyman said... in so many less words.

(who apparently spent too many years turning a 2 page research paper into a required 10 page paper )

Re: Why Am I Here?

This is an e-mail list. Don't expect too much from it and you won't be disappointed. I think this is the best e-mail list that I have been on. Contribute if you can. Otherwise, just sit back and read the messages and absorb all the advice. There is really no need to fit in. We are all very different, but have BFL in common.Andyman

ATTENTION NEWBIES!

First of all, we love you guys. We were all newbies once. After 12 weeks

you'll be a veteran. In the meantime, I'd like to declare tomorrow night

Newbie Night and invite all newbies to a coming out party at our weekly

Wednesday Night chat. You'll probably get a notice about it later today.

It's a regular event, but here's your chance to participate!

Wayne, if you really want to fit in I will tell you....

cash small unmarked bills, sent to a po box on a monthly basis.

email me privately for directions.

just keep on contributing, if some people show up in black robes and

show up at your door, kidnap you and make you do unspeakable things

with farm animals, it isn't anyone affiliated with this group.

just kidding, just keep contributing and you will feel like you

belong.

If there any DC people on the list, maybe we can get together for the

" Drag Race " this Halloween? It's loads of fun. I have gone six years

in a row.

What if we refuse to do the unspeakable things with farm animals? That just brings back too many memories of high school!

Wayne:

We welcome newbies, but you are only a newbie for your first

challenge. Then you are an " old timer " . Many of us have been around

for one, two, or even more challenges. We learn a lot from each

other. Just " jump on in " and get your feet wet. We don't bite, well

some of us don't. But watch out for Lana, she likes to poke eyes!

LOL Many of us have formed friendships and some of us have gotten

together for BFL related events. Woohoo, Vegas, here we come!!! In

time, you'll get to know all of us. (whether you want to or not!)

With respect to e and Wayne, I'm not sure what the problem is.

I mean, you read others' posts to learn a bit, and if you think of

comments or questions, then jump in. I don't know that there's

anything you need to " do " in order to " fit in " or be considered cool

or whatever. I dunno, maybe you're expecting too much from a

faceless, fleshless internet group? *shrug*

Wayne, e, and other newbies,

Please feel free to jump in whenever. I've been a part

of this group since April and I continue to

participate because 1) I still need and receive much

inspiration to keep me going and 2) because I've

completed 1.5 challenges I want to be able to offer

any words of advice or encouragement from someone

who's BTDT.

I love the enthusiasm of the people just learning

about BFL and enjoy reading about peoples progress and

even frustrations.
