Guest guest
Nice website, especially the sections on " telephone medicine " & using hospitalists. I might " borrow " some of that basic info. I am curious though, just how many Medicare patients agree to pay you up front & then submit a HCFA? I find that very hard to believe that you can convince some 75 year old lady (that has worked her entire life paying into Medicare) to foot the bill upfront. There is no way my Medicare patients would go for that, but maybe the mentality is more open-minded in Colorado. Besides, why don't you participate with Medicare? Is it really that bad compared to other payors? Medicaid I can understand, but Medicare keeps me afloat. Update and questions >> >> >> >> Hi All. Guest guest
, That's sounds a bit pricey. I used www.lunarpages.com for around $10/month and a friend designed it (priceless). I bet you could find someone on the web to create it for cheaper than $750 but I'm not sure about that. One cheap way may be to find a student of web design who can use your site as an example for future business. The price they quoted me for the website creation is $750 to create the website ( it is an interactive one, where you can make changes, post updates ect). Then for hosting and maintainance it is $60 a month. It also has a patient portal, but to use the portal it costs $165 dollars a month ( unlimited use). Do these quotes sound reasonable for the web site and the hosting of the website? How much do others pay for a "good" website and hosting. Guest guest
, I just created by myself an interim website through Medfusion/AAFP for nothing, except that I can only change it one week every year. The website is a bit awkward but meets my needs at this time and it's free. Because my practice is in transition, this should work well for me for now since I mostly want my current patients to access it to be able to print email consent form which I hope they will then fax back to me through Updox/Apractis which I will then import into their chart, so I can start emailing with them. I still share receptionists for scheduling but hope to use appointmentquest.com soon. I have officially been labeled computer challenged, but I'm not giving up, just trying to steepen the learning curve. Having a career and raising children for the past 15 years doesn't leave a lot of time for much else. Would like to do virtual visits at some point, but just happy to be able to use email. Currently have some trouble getting accurate transmission of labs/radiology on updox faxing. Hoping hospital may consider emailing items to me. Great meeting you and everyone else! The weekend in Washington was truly energizing! Thanks goes to Gwen for organizing the dinner and suggesting the Homewood. I was the lucky one who got to sit next to Gordon at dinner along with Eads.
