Guest guest
- You have already spent alot of money on the claim that EEG biofeedback is treatment for Bipolar disorder. You are only going to continue to be disapointed in the results if this is the expectation. Some facts to keep in mind to ballance the hype. 1:The FDA registers biofeedback devices only for relaxation and muscle education 2: Some QEEG software has been registered with the FDA for analysis of EEG frequency charicteristics but not for diagnosis of any of the disorders discussed here. 3:The mini Q that people are recomending that you do to determine how to proceed with treatment of your Bipolar disorder does not even have FDA registration. Now with that in mind here are some expectations that I believe you have a good chance of meeting with not just the approach advocated here but also with others including but not limited to formal QEEG guided approaches, the Othmers approach and the approach discussed at www.Zengar.com. Improvements in sleep, motivation, concentration, attention, memory, mood, learning, distress tollerance, headaches, and quite a few other aspects of central nervous system functioning. Another way to look at what these devices do that is more along the lines of what they are actualy registered with the FDA for is in terms of training in the relaxation response. One can train in the relaxation response with a variety of EEG biofeedback techniques, yoga, meditation, arobic conditioning, etc, etc. They can all be expected to produce many general effects in common and also some nuanced differences based on the type of training employed. In terms of deciding on what to do next don't just rely on this site. Go to the Othmers site, go to the Zengar site, find others. Scientific evidence has not proven the superiority of any of these approaches over any other. In the end it might be more important for you to take the next step with what ever one seems to match your own beliefes about what makes most sense. I hope you will visit the other EEG biofeedback sites to get a better sense of what they offer and why before jumping in and spending alot more money on anything offered at any one of them, including this one.
