Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just joined this group, so I thought I would introduce myself...My name is Michele, I'm 31 and started the BFL program last Monday, so I am on my second week - yeah!! It really seems like a program I can stick with. I have learned so much from this group in the couple of days that I've been reading the posts. You guys are great! I seem to be doing great with the workouts -- I'm really sore and I had extreme headaches all last week, but they have seemed to go away this week. Does everyone do the cardio workout first thing in the morning?? Does it matter? I haven't had the opportunity to do the cardio first thing yet, but if it does make a huge difference, I could definitely change my schedule. I have read the book, but I'm not sure if I'm doing the eating plan right. What exactly constitutes a portion?? I'm trying to eat equal portions of protein and carbs, correct? I am finding it extremely hard to eat six times a day as well. Well, just wanted to say hello and ended up babbling - sorry! Looking forward to getting to know you all! Guest guest
Welcome Michele! > Does everyone do the cardio workout first thing in > the morning?? Not everyone. I do all my workouts in the morning because it fits into my schedule better and it gets my metabolism going for the whole day. Others have had success doing it in the evening (Sara I think). Just make sure you do it and don't brush it off in the evenings! > What exactly constitutes a portion?? I'm trying to > eat equal portions of > protein and carbs, correct? Your fist/palm is a portion. For me (I'm 5'3 " ) that's about 3/4 cup cottage cheese, 3-4 oz. chicken breast, 4 egg whites and one whole egg, one apple, one orange, a cup of strawberries, etc. Grab one portion of protein and one portion of carb at every meal. At two of those meals also add a portion of veggies. C2W4D4 __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Welcome aboard Michele! Yes, it DOES matter. Your results, especially for fat loss, will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better if you workout first thing in the morning before you eat. You can gain muscle by lifting in the afternoon, but your fat loss will be MUCH less than if you exercise in the morning before your first meal. BTDT, got the t-shirt. Read my " mistakes " post. Since that post, I've made the changes I listed and am seeing much improvement. It will be worth it. Guest guest
, As long as they are not starchy vegetables (which count as a *carb*) like potatoes, corn, or legumes, then you can eat as many veggies as you want - I know *I* do, keeps my tummy full all day. Guest guest
I don't have my book (loaned it to a friend) but I believe Bill's plan is to add 2 servings of veggies a day. Now if you do more than that I think that's perfectly fine! Other veteran BFL's say eat as much of the authorized veggies as you want. I don't think I could eat that much veggies though.
