Guest guest
I am sorry if I missed this information - how much inositol do you give? how does increasing or decreasing the dosage affect the results? thanks! yuka Re: dietary supplements I would give the inositol just as long a time as you would give an SSRI medication to work - 8 to 12 weeks. This give it time, as with meds, to build up to a regular dosage and to maintain that dosage for a few weeks to see if you begin to see any benefit. We used it for a couple+ years and it did well for my son's OCD. He still " had OCD " but did much better eventually and could tell the difference using the inositol, which was nice (to know that " he " could tell a difference). I think it was quite a few weeks (8-12) before I felt I was seeing some benefit. Hope this helps! ,
Guest guest
Hi Yuka, Here's an article with recommended dosage amounts: http://www.homestead.com/westsuffolkpsych/Inositol_and_OCD.html Some people, as with all meds, see results on less dosage than the maximum amount. did well on 10-14 grams. And when he was doing really well for a while, he maintained okay on just a teaspoon a day. Hope this helps, be glad to tell you more of our experience if you want. > I am sorry if I missed this information - how much inositol do you give? how does increasing or decreasing the dosage affect the results?
