i am starting next week. i have been following tim's (malia)

progress closely and am truly excited for my own practice too though

the bills are starting to give me reflux.

i moved away from a previous practice only few blocks away and a lot

of patients have said they would follow me. mostly medicare patients

have mentioned this since i am an internist. i do have a younger

population compared to other IMs in town since i am one of 3 female

internists and i end up with a lot of female exams due to the fact

that there are very rare appointments that can be made with the

female OB/gyns.

my office is 1200 sqft and about 4 exam rooms <$1/sq ft with

utilities. malpractice is mature at $15 T / year, will have hubby do

the billing (and i will bribe him with italian cuisine), will hire

MA/front staff only, recently signed up with eclinicalworks with a

lot of upfront debt due to hardware and the software sign up. had to

do finish work on office too but hubby did most of painting and

cabinetry etc. we have two teeny kids (one i have loaned to

rumpelstiltskin for the emr). i can get busy quite easily if i

wanted to with just by word of mouth etc. this may be too

presumptuous but people have been calling since 1 month ago trying

to get an appointment as soon as i left last employ. will need IT

support because of emr. can do nursing home or assisted living quite

easily but i know LIFE goes out the window when i do this. will

accept no medicaid even if secondary.

i do plan to work 8-5 M to TH Fri by appointments. and i am truly

thinking of adding acupuncture by next year like charlie's practice.

hubby will multitask as guinea pig.

any thoughts? overhead is pretty high now because of loan. i tried

to do search for panel size limit but still cant figure it out.

thanks. need all the help i can.
