I'm curious how he says it's going. Guest guest Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 i think the three most desired features, not in any particular order, are hcfa-1500 generation, a bidirectional lab interface for whichever lab one uses, and the tickler/registry for chronic conditions and preventive care. of these three, i believe the tickler/registry for chronic care and prevention is the most important. Guest guest Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 Hi, Lynn, I wonder if I am missing some easy ways to address these issues: Being in a hospital-owned practice, I need my charting to be JCAHO-compliant. That means no "QD," etc, in the medications lists, so I would like either to be able to switch to a list using JCAHO-compliant designations or to be able to tweak the drop-down list, myself. Now I am just free texting this. I would like to be able to control the drop-down lists in other areas like demographics and immunizations, to remove out of date entries. Also for JCAHO, I would like a pain scale to be incorporated. Using a templated text isn't hard but is less elegant and is easy to forget. It turns out the AC new in house support is housed <5 minutes up the street from my office! I feel like I really have an 'in'... Small update coming out late winter, with: imported item tree view, and set your own headings " advance directives " " xrays " " labs " " emails " etc. Definitely will be an improvement over the one size fits all basket for all imported items currently being used. ability to print but not save HCFAs (in my opinion, ezclaim is much more versatile and relatively inexpensive) graphing of vitals fix on the PCL 6 printer bug pt demographics printing out with referral letters elementary claims scrubbing of sorts on a better billing page email link to outlook from demographic page printing out of comments on imported items page when entire chart is printed out etc... The major functionality upgrade that we're all waiting for- patient registries for chronic and preventive care with pop up reminders and uni or even bi-directional lab interface- are still in progress- definitely to be the next major update- per Jon will hopefully be a summer update. On-line appointment booking is slated for after the above update. Max, you asked about deleting old entries from the insurance fields on the demographic page- I've actually also asked about this and the answer is, those drop down fields are only showing up because those insurances are extant in your database- some patient somewhere is still using them. If you delete that item for the patients that are still registered with those insurances, then that drop down menu item will disppear. I'm not sure about this myself because I have tried and failed to get rid of them also- you know, maybe I didn't check in the inactive patients? ... If the lot number you put in expires, then the number disappears as well as the date. I think I have to check this out also with my charts. I'm now 23 days from launch and trying to make final plans... is it just me or is there in inverse relationship for time left to start date and time needed to complete projects ... among yesterday's projects (computer, carpetting, business cards) not one went smoothly and are now more delayed .... seems everything has more hitches and hurdles as time grows shorter!... oh well. Anyway, I want to get a final feel for AC before making the big jump. Among you AC'ers... Do you still consider it the " best bang for the buck " ?(credit to Larry for the quote... some listserv history there) Are you happy with the responsiveness and the progress of its updates? Do you feel it still makes your work easier? (even if you integrate it with other resourses/services which is what I have in mind) Do you feel it actually makes your medical care better? For example my diabetic registry items are a "dm" template under past medical history. The entire work up for refractory htn is a "htn refractory" template under plan and the Wein Seimmes or whatever it is monofilament test is documented along with heart lungs etc under "dm" Physical exam. Also, I enter copays on the bill and they disappear. And, when a patient pays, I write it under "received other" and on transfer to EZ Claim, it looks like they didn't pay. It sounds like tech support is no longer in Seattle? Don't worry- I'll send my questions to Jon too. You're a great person to be near the support team. I think that proximity will help all of us!
