Can a non nurse perform a non stress test?

I know that only an RN/NP/PA/MD/CNM can perform and interpret an NST once they have taken both basic and advanced fetal monitoring but can someone like an ultrasonographer be taught how to do it? I was asked to teach a class and not sure it's right for them to be doing NSTs.
