Guest guest
Dear Ones, I checked today and I don't use 1 and l/2 cups of sugar to 7 teabags to more than 3 litres of water. I use seven huge oversize tablespoons which is only about 1 and 1/3 cups. of sugar. Forgive? Today, I harvested the three pots my daughter from Boston made 6 days ago I was afraid I would let it go too long. I don't like mine too tart, and we needed some now. My adopted son, , with his painful sciatica, kept teaning on my top table which is rickety, to straighten his back. (I miss my old 28 cu. ft. refirg-freezer brewing cabinet with it's constant temprature and security from movement and gnats. My son must have also jostled the three pots of brew on the coffee table underneath. All three scobies were quite thin, but the brews tasted ready anyway. I was hoping to have big, fat scobies to give my daughter when she returns. She really wants to brew now. The other one in PA has already started brewing,, first in a hot bedroom, got lovely brew in 4 days. Then she tried to brew without heat. Her daughter turned off the furnace, and her brews didn't develop even in 7 days. I told her it might take two weeks. It seems that I am going to get my desire to have our family brewing continue after I am gone, but I am not planning on leaving any time soon. Ha. I deviously forwarded them both all kinds of info about making KT. They finally suuccombed. Hallaleuia. Blessings on you all. LOve. MArge. Guest guest
Marge, Give your daughter those scoobys anyway. I have had some thin ones really thinken up OR have produced really thick babies. They may just need to sit in a heavier sugar/tea solution for a while. Give it a shot & see what happens. Best Whises, Skye Ed, I have been misleading everyone. Dear Ones, I checked today and I don't use 1 and l/2 cups of sugar to 7 teabags to more than 3 litres of water.
