Guest guest
Euro Spa Breakfast Grits: Good source of Essential Fatty Acids, as recomm. by Oz C'wealth dept of Health, from 2003. Those who eat them, appear to control their weight better, find it easier to stay close to ideal weight - due to higher satiety in the gut and the superior nutrition they provide. The EFA's boost the immune system and are anti-inflammatory, eg. helpful with arthritis, eczema and psoriasis, plus other skin problems. The Brans are believed to be very good for the heart, skin and bowel and to be anti-bowel cancer, eg. cancer of the distal colon - high fibre, plus they absorb sugars and fats, thus favourably affecting blood lipid levels. Allow one 180 ml/ 6 ounce coffee cup, to be 'one part'. The Grits: Half a part of sunflower meal. One part of linseed meal. One part of soy grits. One part of millet flakes or meal (not the whole seeds!) Half a part of sesame seeds. Quarter part of a nut meal, such as hazelnut or almond meal. Half a part of lecithin meal or granules (Coles NW, or Safeway). Optional, one part coarse polenta (corn) instead of the soy grits. Make up and keep in a thingo. The Euro Spa Breakfast: Place 1 to 2 handfuls ground Euro grains in a bowl, depending on your mass (Ground grains sold at Carty's, as 'Porridge Mix- wheat, millet, rye'). Or use home, handground grains . Put in one of your handfuls of Barley Bran and another 2 handfuls of Oaten bran (these are considered better for the heart - bad-guy cholesterol lowering, than wheaten bran). Or vice versa, if you're Arab, Scandinavian, Northern German or Eastern Euro. Optional: add one heaped teaspoon of Psyllium husks, for heart health. Also, half a handful of Carty Bread Seed mix (sesame, linseed, canola, sunflower), or similar. Put in a handful of above 'Breakfast Grits'. Add full fat milk, then you will need to top up, as the milk is absorbed. All of above, inc the brans, from Carty, greengrocer, at Bendigo Wholefoods, Lyttleton Tce, back of Cole's New World carpark. Lowan of Nhill Lecithin meal or granules, from Coles NW or Safeway. Remember that Euro ground grains and the brans, are more nutritious by far, than Vitabrits or Weeties, which are highly processed, sugar-added, American style cereals.
