Guest guest
This " Euro Spa " has been mentioned in connection w/ diet a couple of times. I'm afraid I don't know what it is. What, for example, is a " euro spa breakfast " Kind of surprised you are asking this because it was the Americans who steamrolled the whole oaten bran thing - after it was found that the soluble fibre in oaten bran was really good for heart health, through absorbing undesirable fats and sugars, which in turn leads to better lipid and chol levels. Even Safeway are selling oaten bran now, tho have yet to get around to barley bran, which is slightly more palatable and v popular with bran afficianados. Example would be: one handful barley bran; one handful oaten bran; one handful breakfast grits; one handful ground whole grains (eg. wheat, rye, millet); one handful raw barley or wheat flakes; heaped teasp psyllium husk; half handful seeds (eg flax, sesame, sunflower, alfalfa). The whole thing is v nutritious, ie busting with Bs but also low carb because the grain fraction is controlled. Also very anti bowel cancer because of the brans and the fibre in the grains. Breakfast grits: one part soy grits or coarse cornmeal/polenta; one part millet flakes or meal; one part linseed meal; half a part sunflower meal; half a part sesame seeds; quarter part almond or hazlenut meal; half a part lecithin meal or granules. best, Lizzie in Australia
