Guest guest
This whole project has always been about promoting a very healthy food that is part of a very fragile farm operation when January frost can take away your crop in just one might. When we did this the first time a few years ago, we brought up like 300 cases of citrus and it was not nearly as good as the " stuff " from this farm. I was completely exasperated on Thursday evening with the report of likely frost. I felt like I'd dropped the ball and ergo the post. Some may think that I am not concerned about my reputation as a member of this group. For me it's more of a leveling device that makes you think about the food that I promote instead of making a decision based on feeling all warm and fuzzy about this particular farmer. It needs to be about healthy food. Period. I'll have an update from South Texas Organics asap. Tx, Alvin > > I know we waited to hear about the frost before we ordered. I also know I do not like feeling as if I just got my hand slapped for not supporting the local farmer enough. as a local farmer myself - why make people feel that way? What they decide to eat and how is their decision and if you really feel that maybe you should take and nap and not make people feel bad about the decisions they have made for their families. I love that there is this opportunity available for good food and a place to share information about that and even just learning about good cookware. Hopefully we can have it all. > > > > >
