Guest guest
For Fevers the best thing I know of is Hot and cold showers. It usually brings down the fever at least a degree or more. You jump in the shower and stand under water as hot as you can stand it for 1 or 2 minutes the switch to as cold as you can stand it and stand under it for about 2 minutes. Go back and forth as much as you can and you're done. For the immune system take Echinacea and or garlic. K Bad stomach flu going around My daughter had it. She is 41. Started with high fever for 2 days, then throwing up. She couldn't hold anything on her tummy but popsicles and jello. Tue will be 2 weeks and today she said she is starting to feel better. My husband started this afternoon running a high fever. It was almost 103. We eat the NT way (except for raw meats) and have not really been sick in a looong time. What can we do to keep his fever down without tylenol and some of the other over-the-counter " junk " that ppl take. My dd doesn't do NT so she used OTC stuff to keep her fever down. Also what can I do to boost my immune system to keep from getting it. I swear I don't want that bug! Thanks, Del
Guest guest
That sounds like it would work but most ppl with a high fever wouldn't be able to stand in the shower and do that, I don't think. Thanks for the tip to build the immune system. Del > For Fevers the best thing I know of is Hot and cold showers. It usually > brings down the fever at least a degree or more. Guest guest
Well, I've done it many times for myself through high fevers and mastitis etc. For my children I get in with them and they are in a front carrier. I've even done it my niece that way and she is 6 years old. Her fever was 105 and it went down 2 degrees and I only did it for about 7 minutes or so. For kids, it's great because sometimes the fever is so high they can't even sleep and this relieves it so they can sleep. Anyway, next time you have a fever try it, I've never had a problem standing, neither has my husband or anyone else I know of. And it helps so much that there is motivation to do it. But you can always modify it or just forget about it K Bad stomach flu going around > > My daughter had it. She is 41. Started with high fever for 2 days, > then throwing up. Guest guest
Oh, I believe you and I do plan on trying it if I get this bug (knock on wood). I always used the " tibid water, cold rag therpy " for my kids and this is just a kinda, sorta version of that. I could not keep my dh from doing what HE felt best so he did the OTC stuff. I think this is day 3 and he seems to be having his first evening with no fever but he has a headache that won't stop. He ate a little today and was up from bed some this afternoon. It's 5:30 and he claims he is weak and his head hurts so he is going to bed. I have had a fever maybe 3 times in my life and everytime it was not much of a fever but it really knocked my feet out from under me! So It scares me to think I might get this bug. My dd is a day care director and brings " bugs " over here all the time that she gets but we don't. I cooked 3 chickens this week-end and put all cut up in serving sizes. Now I am making broth. I will be prepared...
