Guest guest
Haven't posted for a while but its good to be back here reading your messages etc.. anyway I have been doing kombucha for a while now mainly for the health benefits that I can generally see since I still have my suntan from last June and its now very much winter! etc etc but the thing is I use kombucha with a few fruits mixed in a blender so I don't notice the taste that has always been average at best, I don't think I have yet had a " delicious tasting " beverage or smell just from the fermentation pot although I appreciate that it is very good for you, so continue to make it. I make it the same each time for 6 litres worth consisting of 3 separate brewing pots.. the preperation is as follows; 1 litre of filtered water boiled for 5 minutes.. 30 tablespoons of caster sugar.. 5 green tea bags and 2 elderflower I have also occaionally used rose hip in this combination but always include elderflower because I read in Harald Tietze's book that it is good for the culture! With the sweetened tea I get a big serving spoon and add the 1 litre of tea equally to each 2 litre pot that has already been topped up with bottled water and a little more at the end if needed. They are all covered with muslin cloth and reproduce accordingly and within the time set I just haven't had the " champagne " experience yet.. and it seems to have stopped being as effective on my bowel movements, that felt like a miracle for the months I first started drinking it. I don't know whether to start using japanese style green tea or mix it with black to hopefully regain such effects since my body seems very settled with the current formula
