I believe you can get a few of those tests through NHS but there are very few nhs doctors that would refer you or order such tests. You can try asking your gp but you will likely get brushed off. Or called mad.

If you can get your gp to refer you to the children’s clinic of Royal Homeopathic hospital they will probably carry out some tests for you. But not many PCTs now allow gps to make such referrals, even when doctors are willing to. http://www.uclh.nhs.uk/GPs+healthcare+professionals/Clinical+services/Homeopathy+%28Royal+London+Homoeopathic+Hospital%29/Homeopathy+-+Childrens+Clinic/

I would apply for funding first from the Caudwell Trust.

As Natasa says asking for tests off a GP will make you look like crazy

mum

Find a Good Practitioner.

The list will reply with some suggestions.

It depends on where you live.

List is on www.treatingautism.co.uk practitioners on the left

in brief.. there are more

Scotland - Lorene Amet Autism Treatment Trust

North West - Muscroft

South - Breakspear have new team of practitioners.

Most important tests at the start would be a stool and urine test.

(Comprehensive Stool analysis with parasitology and MAP urine test)

Other tests you can get from GP would be abdominal Xray, Full Blood

count plus ferritin , thyroid , kidney / liver function.

They can do Amino Acid levels - called quantative amino acid levels.

But better to get practitioner to write to GP to support your request.

Go to the Bournemouth Conference organised by Treating Autism in March

( never let a opportunity pass me by LOL!)

You will learn lots and meet loads of parents.

Read Children With Starving Brains by Jaquelyn McCandless.
