Guest guest
Nicola, So glad to hear you have a diagnosis. I didn't realize this before the penny dropped wiith me the last few days but constipation IS symptomatic of thyroid, in fact it is a classic symptom. Did the doctor suggest having that checked out? Thyroid controls serotonin metabolism and serotonin is important for moving th bowels. People who are depressed (low serotonin) classically have constipation also. I posted something about brown sugar for constipation a few weeks back but I couldn't understand the reasons why it would help. Last week when I was going over my thesis I had to read up on carbohydrates and serotonin. Apparently high carbs, like sugar, (as opposed to high protein) will raise serotonin levels. So by giving sugar, you are essentially giving serotonin which will move the bowels. Guest guest
, definitely has thyroid problems. I wonder if this is why Kalo rice milk produces good results in the toilet (really empties him) but I don't let him have it because he then gets yeasty and that is just too awful around here. He is taller than me and heavier than me and a violent bonkers person bigger than me is really scary.
