I have a patient that had been seeing me regularly for Type II DM that had become virtually non-existent, but after about two years he grew tired of the plan and decided to maintain on his own while minimizing interventions from me, becoming more lax with his diet, and checking in 4x/year.  He has a history of psoriasis that comes and goes and has recently experienced roaming severe joint pain and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  My question is this...every time he has even a twinge of a cold he takes a product from Source Naturals called " Wellness Formula " (vitamins and herbs...too many to list).  He swears by this product and proudly says because of it he never gets sick. (He did have one prolonged sinus infection last year though.)  So I'm thinking that all that Wellness Formula acted as a suppressive agent and contributed to the development of the RA because his immune system never had the opportunity to mount a full on response to anything.  I had been treating him for a presenting sycotic miasm when he was engaged in the plan, but now he seems much more tuberculinic. Just throwing this out there to get other perspectives.  He's is about to start Enbrel because he can't stand the pain and his wife thinks ND care would be too lengthy and costly.

Thoughts?-- NDNorth field, RI
