Guest guest
Greetings List: Here is the intro from a new member Faye . She lives in British Columbia, Canada. I live in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada, am 49 years old and have been happily married for 31 years. I have a son 29 and a daughter 27. The love of my life is my 3 year old grandson. I have been on long term disability since 1995 from Canada Safeway Ltd. In order to receive LTD, I had to file a law suit against Sun Life and Safeway which was settled out of court. I also receive CPP disability. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, Bursitis and Fibromyalgia in 1995 but I feel I have had them for years. Over the years I have been on NSAIDS for Osteoarthritis and Tendonitis. I have had migraines since my teens and I think, first the Aspirin, then the Tylenol, then the NSAIDS have masked the pain of the AS & FMS. Over the years I have had many health problems, Dysentry, Bell's Palsy, Vertigo, Tinnitus, Deep venous insufficiency, Appendicitis, Pericarditis, High Cholesterol & Triglycerides, High Blood Pressure, TMJ dysfunction, Gastritis, H.pylori infection, Cystic Liver, IBS, and the most recent diagnosis is Diabetes. If I have forgotten anything I will blame it on the fibrofog. I find the fatigue, chronic pain and poor sleep from AS & FMS to be the most disabling. Because of the AS my SI joints were 2/3 fused in 1995 the resulting pain travels down my legs. It is especially bad when I lay down to rest my neck, shoulders and upper back to alleviate the headaches. I have put on weight over the last four years due to inactivity and change in diet. I now rely on my scooter for any walking over 50 ft. I have been going to aqua therapy. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. At present I am trying to incorporate a low salt, low cholesterol, low triglyceride, low calorie, and NO sugar diet. It is amazing the amount of energy it takes to try to eat right. The biggest problem I have been having with my diet is that for over a year I have been unable to eat any fruit or some vegetables. I have also not been able to drink tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Whenever I have tried to have a piece of fruit it tastes like I have swallowed battery acid. This happens while I am on 3 stomach medications. I see the gastroenterologist again at the end of Sept. and I hope she can do something that will allow me to eat fruit. She changed the Tylenol #3 I was taking to straight codeine as the caffeine in the Tylenol #3 bothers my stomach and aids the insomnia. My family has supplied me with a new computer to alleviate the cabin fever. Although I am a novice when it comes to all this new technology, I do enjoy surfing the web. Having this new toy helps to distract me from the pain. I just happened across your site and signed up. I look forward to any suggestions or help offered by the group. ~~~Faye~~~ -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To those who read this: I RESPOND TO NEW ICQ'S when sufficient information is provided for me to make a decision.
