Guest guest
Joe and All, I can recommend a fabulous book that addresses this very thing, it's called The Real Wealth of Nations by Riane Eisler. It's about creating a " Caring " economy that values things such as child care, food, clean water, etc. She proposes a " more equitable and sustainable economic system " based on the " essential work of caring for people and nature. " It is really a fascinating read! Be forewarned though, she is a feminist and makes a point that this devaluation of caring work, or even caring itself, is due to a masculine dominated society. Eisenstein's newest book, The Ascent of Humanity also has alot to offer. It starts with the idea of " Separateness " . How the belief we are separate from each other, nature, and the universe has brought us to the place where we are now. And how we can converge to create a new reality. Kathy P.S. I thought only my mother said " durn " ! Love you Joe!
