Kristy i am taking actigul for the PBC i am told that it is the salts from bear bile to keep my bile flowing good that is as much as i know about it. It made my blood work look much better once i started taking it it seemed that the pred was just not working i was up to 60 mg a day of the pred and as soon as he started me on the actigul my numbers started droping i started out with 600mg of the actigul and as my numbers went down at a certin point the stopped so he uped my dose of actigul to 1200mg my numbers have been the best they have ever been so for me i say it has helped a lot. i still have the sever joint and muscle pain and am tired all the time but as long as the numbers stay low that will give me a reason to keep on keeping on.

PS I was told that it could even help out the AIH it may be worth asking about.

everyone take care

Hi and Kristi,

I have AIH, and Autoimmune Cholangitis which is like PBC and my doctor has me take 1500 mg. actigall a day, I was on predisone, started with 50 mg., have been weaned off, and I take 100 mg. of immuran , I just had bloodwork done last month, and I had normal LFT's, so thankfully I get to be off predisone for a couple months hopefully longer if my LFT's stay good.

Just remember that Uozo is nothing more than a herbal tincture in a fancy

bottle.

Alcohol has been used as a method of preserving the values/benefits of herbs

for thousands of years for out of season use. In the Middle Ages, the monks

in monasteries had large herb gardens and were the keepers of a lot of the

herbal knowledge..... seasoning food for flavor only was not the main use of

herbs. Bendectine monks are probably best known for this and even earlier in

1000AD the mystic St Hildegard de BIngen also shared the recipes for creating

herbal tinctures and wines for healing use.
